3rd party Test Information
We can administer the skills segment of the driving test at our facility. The test will be administered by a PennDOT certified examiner in our dual-control vehicle for safety reasons. Generally there is a waiting period of 3 to 5 days to take a test. Please email us a photocopy of your valid learners permit at pghtesting@gmail.com to make a reservation (3rd party test only)! After sending us your permit you must call us to reserve a date and time slot for testing so that we can register the test with PennDOT. There are no walk in tests! For more information or to schedule your test, please call the Rogers Driving School Scheduling department at 412-931-9000. Certain restrictions may apply.

What to Bring to the Test
- Valid actual Permit and masks for student and parents.
- If under 18 yrs must have parent or guardian with student to sign the PennDOT document and PennDOT requires parent’s Electronic Signature to take the test. If parent does not come with student, then must have signed and notarized DL-180c ( parents/guardian certification form) to test. If student comes with guardian, must bring guardianship paperwork.
- Payment for test $200 cash or credit card ( with 3.5% processing fee ) $100 if you completed 6 hours
Rogers Testing Procedure
- We are now allow to give lessons and test by order of Department of Education and PennDOT.
- Test is only given with our training car for safety reasons.
- Must have masks and actual permit during the test.
- Must sign all required forms before the test.
- No refund – Test is pass or fail.
What happens after passing Test
When the student passes the test we will stamp the permit turning it into a temporary license with full driving privileges. A few weeks later the student will receive a camera card from PennDOT. That cards needs to be taken to the DMV where a new photo will be taken and the four year license be issued. If an adult student has a state ID they will be mailed the four year license using the photo on the photo ID. Please speak to the RDS office manager if student is moving to another state or is joining the military and needs to expedite the process.

This course is available throughout the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We offer a state-approved online class which is available 24/7 with the convenience of your own computer. Students can start the program, save their work, and go back as often as they want to finish it. Classroom topics include basic driving techniques, defensive driving skills, rules of the road, alcohol & driving, and driving in adverse weather conditions. A learner's permit is not needed for the theory course. Once the student completes the course, they will receive a certificate of completion.

The student will take their lessons in a dual-controlled training vehicle. Lessons cover in-car skills including basic driving maneuvers, highway driving, parallel parking, defensive driving skills, and test preparation.
3.INSURANCE DISCOUNT
When students finish 6 hours of lessons (divided into four 1.5 hour lessons OR three 2-hour lessons), we can issue a certificate of completion. Both the online course and the lesson certificates can be submitted to your insurance company for a potential discount (15-20% a year). Speak to your insurance company to see if this discount applies. Insurance Discount Certificate will mail or email to you 3 weeks after final lesson is completed.
4.PAYMENT OPTION
If you pay with a check, it will take 3 weeks to clear. If you need your certificate immediately after completing 6 hours of lessons, you must pay for the full amount of the lessons in advance or pay with either cash or credit card. If you pay with cash, the instructor will provide a receipt. For credit card payments there will be a 3.5% processing fee. We cannot accept prepaid debit cards, ex: Netspend, CashApp, and Paypal cards. Please make checks out to Rogers Driving School and hand it to the instructor at the time of the lesson. As an adult driver, you can take as many lessons as you need. Most people just take lessons until they feel ready to test, which is up to the individual and their instructor. Any student, regardless of age, who takes 6+ hours of lessons qualifies for a 50% discount on our 3rd party test.

3. Take test at DMV - $250
Student must have at least one lesson with a Rogers instructor prior to test date. Instructor will take the student to the closest PennDOT testing center to their home address. The student will use our training car for the lesson and the test. Please allow up to 2-6 weeks for scheduling due to the backlog at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

All students must have valid permit for lesson and test at Rogers or DMV. Under 18 years old must have signed & notarized parent / Guardian certification form (DL-180C) to take driving test at any location.
Our goal is to produce safe drivers. Testing at Rogers or DMV, all test results are final - pass or fail testing fee is non-refundable. Teenagers under 18yrs old must wait 6 months after the permit was issued in order to take the drivers test. Please review permit to check the eligibility date, as you cannot take the test prior to the eligibility date with Rogers or the DMV. In the event the customer sets up test with Rogers before they are eligible, Rogers will not be able to give the test and we will not be responsible if the customer sets this up in error. It is the customer’s responsibility for reviewing their permit.

ATTENTION: When paying with Credit Card
We take Visa, Master and Discover cards only. If you want to make payment with credit card, payment must be processed when you sign up for the lesson. Instructors do not have credit card machines to process the payment. Credit card processing agreement must be signed & sent to us in order to process credit card payment. A 3.5% percent fee will be added to the credit card payment. Please click to download the credit card processing agreement. Our credit card system will not accept prepaid debit card: Clover, paypal, netspend, Greendot, Cashapp, or any prepaid debit card from a Credit Union. If you decide to pay for lesson with credit card please call us at the office 7days before your lesson schedule. WE DO NOT ACCEPT international credit cards. Credit cards must be issued in USA.
ATTENTION: Refund Policy
There will be no refunds issued once a lesson or test has occurred. If a prepaid lesson or test is cancelled according to the 48hour cancelation policy guidelines, we can issue a refund for the cost of the lesson or test.
- If the lesson/test was paid with a check, we will issue a refund in the form of a check once the original check has cleared (which may take 4-5 weeks from the date of deposit).
- If the lesson/test was paid with a credit or debit card, we can issue a refund back to the card- minus a $30 refund processing fee and minus the 3.5% processing fee- OR we can issue a refund in the form of a check, minus the 3.5% processing fee.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel your appointment, you must notify the office at least 48 hours (2 business days) in advance of the appointment. The office is closed on Saturday and Sunday so weekends are not included in the time needed for cancellation notices. A first-time cancellation less than 48 hours in advance is subject to a $53 fee. For a second time cancellation less than 48 business hours in advance, the full amount of the lesson fee will be applied. You cannot text or email to cancel or reschedule. All schedulings of lessons, tests and cancellations must be done through the Rogers Driving School Scheduling Department at 412-931-9000! Instructors do not set up the lessons or cancel appointments. NSF Checks will be charged a $45.00 processing fee plus any bank fees.
